Letter From Erika to Supporters

Dear Friends and Supporters of Montaña de Luz,

I am writing to share with you that I have given my resignation as the Executive Director of this wonderful mission effective January 27, 2017.

In 2010, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and found myself wondering what life would hold for me. I knew I wanted to leave more than a carbon footprint in the world and found the posting to be the Executive Director for Montaña de Luz. I left my job as a health care executive and took on what was to become one of the most meaningful and humbling roles I have experienced in my life. I have had the privilege of loving and influencing these children’s lives, working alongside staff who consider their work not a job but a calling from God. I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the last six years together!

I have been blessed with good health, despite having MS, but in the last year I have had an increase in symptoms and 6 months ago my neurologist advised me it was time to make some changes. I will be returning to my former position 4 days a week which will allow me more time to focus on caring for myself and my family. It will also provide the benefits that are vital to me and my family’s well being.

I will continue to support this mission with all my heart and have joined Friends of Montaña de Luz as a monthly sustainable donor as a way to show in a tangible way my ongoing support.

Thank you for ALL you have done to support this mission and the children we serve!

In appreciation,
